Designing a Regenerative Hawaii

The Permaculture Foundation of Hawaii is a nonprofit dedicated to advancing permaculture principles and practices across the Hawaiian Islands — building resilient, sustainable food systems and communities that work in harmony with nature.

Permaculture Hawaii

Working with Nature to Heal Hawaii

The Permaculture Foundation of Hawaii applies the principles of permaculture — a design system that works with natural patterns and processes — to create sustainable food systems, restore degraded lands, and build resilient communities across the Hawaiian Islands.

Our Mission

To advance permaculture education, design, and practice in Hawaii — building regenerative food systems, restoring native ecosystems, and empowering communities to live sustainably in harmony with Hawaii's unique natural environment.

Our Vision

A Hawaii where communities are food-secure, ecosystems are restored, and people live in regenerative relationship with the land — guided by the wisdom of permaculture and the aloha aina spirit.

Why We Exist

Hawaii faces significant challenges in food security, land degradation, and ecological resilience. Permaculture offers practical, proven solutions. We exist to bring these solutions to Hawaii's communities, farms, and schools.
